The Education Department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai will open applications on 1st January 2024 for admissions to the Mumbai Public Schools (MPS) that are under its management for the next academic year of 2024-2025. 19 schools are offering the CBSE curriculum (these include new schools that will be starting the CBSE curriculum in 2024), one school offering the ICSE curriculum, one school is offering the IGCSE curriculum, and one school will be offering the IB curriculum. In all the MPS schools, irrespective of the curriculum, studying Marathi is mandatory.
Initially known as BMC schools, the Mumbai Public Schools (MPS) have undergone a major change in their campus infrastructure and facilities. Smart classrooms with digital teaching Boards have replaced the traditional blackboards, libraries in every school have been stocked afresh, science labs have got improved equipment, computer labs have been set up with modern hardware and relevant software, sports facilities have been refurbished, etc.
Residential location: Preference will be given to students who are residing within a distance of 1 km from the MPS school to which the application is made.

For Nursery: 1st July 2020 and 31st December 2021.
For Jr KG: 1st July 2019 and 31st December 2020.
For Sr KG: 1st July 2018 and 31st December 2019.

Parents have to apply for admission in online mode at the official BMC Public Schools Admission 2024 website from 1st January 2024.
To assist parents with the online applications, the MPS schools will have staff to help out from 1st January 2024 to 15th January 2024, from 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Monday to Saturday).
The final list of selected students will be displayed on the respective school's notice board. The parents must then visit the school in person along with the child, as per the schedule given, and produce the originals of the documents that had been uploaded, along with photocopies, and any other documents that the school may require for the admission procedure.
Online applications will open on 1st January 2024.
The last date to submit the online application is 15th January 2024.
The verification of documents and the admission counselling session with the parents will be done at the respective schools from 10th January 2024 to 22nd January 2024.
The list of shortlisted candidates will be released on 27th January 2024.
The lottery draw process will be from 30th January to 2nd February 2024.
After the result of the lottery draw, the list of selected candidates will be released on 5th February 2024.
The enrollment process for admission of the selected candidates will begin when the final list is displayed, up to 29th February 2024.
The school academic session for 2024-25 will begin in April 2024 (the specific date to be announced later).
